Sony To Release Xperia Z5 Premium In Addition To It's Z5 And Z5 Compact

Sony over the years have been taking a good share of the mobile devices market with its Xperia devices and more precisely, its Xperia Z series. Over the past few weeks, we've all been hearing, reading and also seeing pictures of the next generation of Sony's own flagship, the Xperia Z series and it's other blood relation, the Z5 compact. This week, Sony themselves "mistakenly" leaked a picture of the Z5 as well before taking them off after sometime.

Let's have a look at the rumored specs of the Xperia Z5 and Z5 compact before moving to the main topic for today.

The Xperia Z5

The Xperia Z5 was rumored to be running Snapdragon 820 processor, along with 4GB of RAM, but Qualcomm isn’t expected to have the new chip ready until 2016. Other features may include 4K video recording, and a large 4500mAh battery. Also from as long as April, it was rumored that Xperia Z5 would use the reversible USB Type-C connector.

And also in an unofficial Facebook post from Sony Georgia, it’s stated the Xperia Z5 will have a 1080p 5.2-inch screen, the Xperia Z5 Compact a 720p 4.6-inch screen, and the Xperia Z5 Premium a massive 2160p 5.5-inch display.

Not much is know about this device but from sources like techtastic and many others, the device is much smaller than the Z5 and will have a 4.6-inch Standard HD (720 X 1280) display and will have a finger print sensor just like the others.

The Xperia Z5 Plus/Premium

According to the Android authority, Xperia Z5+ will be running on af 2GHz Qualcomm Snapdragon 810 Octa-core SoC with Adreno 430 GPU. There will also be 3GB of RAM on-board and 32GB of internal storage. It will include a 23-megapixel rear camera and an 8-megapixel front camera. Just like rumored about the earlier devices, the "plus" will also include an integrated fingerprint sensor built into the now flat power button on the right side of the phone.

The report also reiterates the fact that the volume rocker has been moved down to the bottom portion of the device’s right side, and also specifically mentioned that the Z5 Premium would be able to record 4K video with its’ rear camera. (It is likely that all three models will include the feature however, especially given that even the current Z4/Z3+ already does it).

What do you think of the Xperia Z5? Will it take over?
